Steel Awards 2011
We are proud to have been awarded the 2011 Steel Prize with Mentions for the Rolex Learning Center, EPFL Lausanne.
This exceptional building was designed by the Japanese architectural firm SANAA from Tokyo and the engineering firms Bollinger & Grohmann GmbH from Frankfurt and Walther Mory Maier Bauingenieure AG from Basel. The main steel beams are not curved, but are made of faceted profiles in order to reproduce the movement of the shells in a fluid way.
