We are proud to announce that our project for the IHEID student residence in Geneva, designed by world-renowned architect KENGO KUMA & ASSOCIATES and orchestrated by CCHE, has won first place in the PRIXFORIX. The prize honours the three designers who created one of the most remarkable glass/metal façades in Switzerland!
The main façade stands out for its continuous fluctuation due to the mobility of 80% of its exterior cladding, coming to life according to the time of day and the weather. 🌞🌧️ The interior spaces are concealed by the closure of expanded metal shutters, which are 13% transparent.
In contrast to the aluminium and glass, a wooden walkway embodies the architect’s vision of ‘architecturally connecting earth and sky.’
